Summary
Merge PDF combines PDFs and photos into one file on your device. The documents you add, the pages you arrange, and the finished PDF stay on that phone. We do not upload those files, require an account, show ads, or sell a subscription. The App sends limited usage events to Google Analytics. Those events do not include the contents or names of your files.
Information on your device
PDFs you choose. When you add PDFs, the App reads the files you pick so it can show page previews and merge the pages you keep. That work happens on the phone.
Photos you choose. If you add photos, you explicitly pick them. The permission shown by the system is: “Merge PDF adds the photos you choose into a file on this phone.” We do not scan your photo library in the background. If you turn on “Shrink photos,” the App resizes a photo’s long edge to 1,600 pixels before it is added. PDF pages are not resized that way.
Finished files. Merged PDFs are saved on the device so you can share them later. You can remove a saved file from the App. Uninstalling the App removes its local storage, subject to your device’s own backup behavior.
Usage analytics
On a production build, the App uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the App is used. The iOS build is configured without advertising-identifier support. Events we send are limited to counts and screen names, for example:
- Which screen is open.
- How many PDF files and pages were added.
- How many photos were added.
- That a merge finished, with its page count and file size in bytes.
- That a finished PDF was shared, with its page count.
We do not send the PDF or photo bytes, page images, or file names in these events. Google may process analytics data under its own terms. See Google’s Privacy Policy and Firebase privacy information.
Support emails
If you contact us (for example through the support form), we receive whatever you choose to send, such as your name, email, and a description of a problem. We use that only to respond and to improve the App.
How we use information
- To operate the App on your device: reading files you pick, arranging pages, and saving the merged PDF.
- To measure aggregate usage with the events described above.
- To answer support messages, fix bugs, and comply with law when required.
You do not create an account to use the App. If we add accounts or new data uses later, we will update this policy.
Service providers
Google Firebase / Google Analytics. Usage events described above are sent to Google. Document contents are not.
App stores. Apple and Google may collect diagnostic or purchase data under their own policies when you download the App. Merge PDF does not process payments inside the App.
Retention
Files you merge remain on your device until you delete them or remove the App. We do not keep a copy of those files on our servers. Analytics providers may retain event data according to their own settings and policies. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to resolve your request or meet legal obligations.
Security
Merging happens on the device you use. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. Analytics events and support email travel over the network. Use the App only on devices you trust.
Children
Merge PDF is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). Do not use the App if you are under that age. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps. See also our Child safety standards.
Your choices
- You can stop using the App at any time and revoke photo or file access in your device settings.
- You can delete finished files from the App.
- You can limit analytics your device shares through the platform privacy controls Apple or Google provide.
International users
If you use the App from outside the country where we operate, analytics events and support messages may be processed in other countries where our service providers operate, which may have different data protection laws. The files you merge stay on your device.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The new effective date will appear at the top of this page. Material changes may also be communicated through the App or store listing where practical.
